I would. However, I was routinely leaving my time with God not feeling any more devoted to Him. It is not really about feelings though. The question that we both need to answer is this. Am I more sincerely committed to pleasing God after spending time with Him?
Truth is that sometimes I feel locked out from God. I have talked with others who feel the same way. This feeling can give rise to a variety of emotions. Some feel punished, alone, chaotic, or still others feel nothing.
The number one tip that revolutionized my devotions is this. Occasionally, I began to have my devotions in the out of doors. I would watch the stars fade and sun rise--the dew fall and the fog rise. It felt--kind of romantic. Not in the significant other kind of romantic, but in a nostalgic kind of way.
It reshaped how I spent my time. I felt my need to trust--being outside in the dark of cougar country.
By the way, I have a book that provides numerous other devotion changing tips.
It is titled, "Forever Opening God," and it is intensely practical and easy to understand. Grab the key, read my book and learn about who God is, what He desires for you, and how to open Him.

This book will be a blessing to many. A tool to lead broken lives (and not so broken ones) to find in God the lost purpose of their existence.”
